Our Asteroid Search Campaign
One-of-its-kind campaign to find, locate, discover, and even name asteroids in our solar system.
The GuruKool Asteroid Search Campaign is a one-of-a-kind educational outreach initiative run by the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC) and led by Dr. Patrick Miller of Hardin Simmons University in the USA. This program offers a unique opportunity for participants to discover actual asteroids and even have the honor of naming them! Our campaign provides real data, ensuring that each discovery is a genuine contribution to scientific research.
To help interested individuals discover more asteroids, we offer dedicated training sessions that equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in our campaigns. Our program provides exclusive access to astronomy images and training in advanced data analysis and software, and offers the chance to interact with international scientists, culminating in an invaluable real-time research experience.
As a result of our campaign, students and amateurs make confirmed discoveries of Main Belt Asteroids and provide important observations that contribute to the NASA Near-Earth Object (NEO) Program at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. Join us to embark on an exciting journey of scientific discovery and make a meaningful contribution to the field of astronomy!
